Five practical online chat safety tips
- Keep identifying details private. Do not share your full name, address, workplace, school, phone number or personal social profiles.
- Never share passwords or verification codes. Someone claiming to be staff or a friend may not be who they say they are.
- Be cautious with links and requests for money. Avoid unfamiliar downloads, financial requests and investment pitches.
- Remember that messages can be copied. A chat partner could take screenshots or repeat what you send.
- Leave uncomfortable conversations. End the chat rather than continuing to engage with someone threatening, coercive or abusive.
Who is VibeRoom for?
VibeRoom is intended only for adults aged 18 and older. Visitors must confirm their age before using guest chat. This is currently a self-declaration, not independent identity verification.
Harassment, exploitation, threats, illegal content and attempts to solicit personal or financial information are not acceptable. Read our Terms of Service for the complete rules.
Reporting: current status
Report controls are available inside a chat and briefly after it ends. Reports are saved for manual staff review, along with up to ten recent chat messages. Reporting does not end a conversation; use End chat or Next person to leave. These tools do not mean messages are proactively reviewed or that visitors have been identity-checked.
If you encounter dangerous or illegal behavior, end the conversation. In an urgent emergency, contact the appropriate local emergency service. Avoid confronting or sharing sensitive information with the other person.
Is guest chat private?
The person you are matched with sees your nickname rather than your account email address. This does not mean anonymity is guaranteed: technical connection information may be processed to operate the service, and the other person can save what you send. Learn more in our Privacy Notice.
